Blog 19 – Kingdom Truth
There is a dichotomy involving teachings on the Kingdom of God. Some Christians never teach about it, and others teach incorrectly about it.
The Kingdom must be taught and taught correctly.
The Kingdom of God is very real and at its foundation is truth. Truth cannot be separated from God and His Kingdom. Therefore, when speaking of things pertaining to the Kingdom of God one must make every effort to speak the truth as revealed from God’s WORD.
Many have taken great liberty when teaching about the Kingdom of God, and especially about how it is expressed in this world. Noone has any right to stretch or exacerbate the WORD of God. All Kingdom teachings should have the utmost biblical accuracy applied.
Simply because someone teaches and preaches about the Kingdom does not automatically qualify their words as truth. Therefore, it is everyone’s accountability to take what you read or hear to the Bible for verification.
It is my belief that some take great liberty as to what the Kingdom of God on earth means.
Although I strongly encourage everyone to seek a deeper understanding of the Kingdom of God, and to apply it to the born-again life in every way possible; there must always be a sound scriptural basis of truth. Only the truth can set you free!
We must never forget that false doctrine also comes from scripture. The Bible warns us in 2 Timothy 3:13, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
Jesus warned of what religious teachers would do in Mark 15:8-9 saying, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” This warning is very true and still applicable today and always.
Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:3, “For the time will come when they shall not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.” You might ask, “What are itching ears?” These are teachers who simply tell the people what they want to hear. Such teachers may attract crowds, but crowds aren’t a sign of truth.
For this reason, my admonition is for everyone to rightly divide the WORD of truth as per 2 Timothy 2:15.
Study, pray, and seek God’s guidance for truth. Reject untruth.
The wise man in Proverbs 23:23 wrote, “Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.”
In eternity the saved will not have to contend with false doctrines, liars, and deceivers. In this life we do. Therefore, always guard your mind and spirit from such.
John 5:39 tells us to, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify of me.”
The scriptures contain the answers to your questions about the Kingdom of God.
