Blog 7 – Our Provider

When God created the first man, he then placed him in the garden He had planted. In that garden, Adam had everything he needed. He had all the fresh and healthy food and water he could ever hope for. Adam also had open access to God. There was nothing lacking that he required.

That was God’s original plan for man. God made every provision for the natural man.

In 1 Corinthians 15 we are told that the first Adam was of the earth, earthy. He was made a living soul. That is still the status of the unborn again man. 1 Corinthians 15 also says the second Adam (Jesus) is the Lord from Heaven. He was made a quickening spirit.

God also supplies every need of the spiritual man. Jesus once told the apostles He had meat to eat that they knew not of. He told the Samaritan woman at the well that He could give the living water, and anyone who drinks of it will never thirst again.

A witness of God’s provision also occurs in Philippians 4:19. It says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

In the Old Testament, one of the compound names for God is Jehovah Jireh. It means, “The Lord, The Provider.” God is the provider of everything both physically and spiritually.

When considering ministry in terms of the Kingdom of God, we must remember that God’s Kingdom is spiritual. A born-again citizen of God’s Kingdom has open access to God’s spiritual provision here on earth. Yes, God can also open doors for the provision of physical needs as well. There are many examples of such in Scripture.

Kingdom ministry connects people to the source. God is the source. Kingdom ministry literally attaches people to the source and supplier of every need.
