“Understanding the Kingdom of God” Lesson 26 – Wind and Spirit

No one can bring about his own human birth, and no one can bring about their born-again birth without God’s Holy Spirit. The Bible speaks of wind as a metaphor for the Holy Spirit.

Wind cannot be controlled by humans. It is invisible and can’t be seen. It can be felt. It can be both gentle and powerful. It can fill things. It can move things.

In this same manner, the Holy Spirit operates. Just like the wind, we can see the effects of an invisible cause that the Holy Spirit can have upon an individual. It makes sinful people become holy; mean people become gentle; immoral people become moral; and other such.

Just like the wind blows where it wants to, the Holy Spirit will move upon our lives as it wants to. We must yield to the leading of the Spirit.
