“Understanding the Kingdom of God” Lesson 25 – The New Man Must Choose

The new spiritual child now possesses two natures because the old carnal nature remains. The two natures are at war with each other, striving for dominance of the born-again person’s conduct and life. Like the apostle Paul, we all experience the war going on within us.

Everyone must choose which master to yield to, the old man or the new. The new birth helps us depart from the former ways of the sinful old man, and to have the spiritual strength and help of the Holy Ghost.

The New Birth experience is not a pregnancy, but the birth of the new spiritual man.

The flesh produces works of the flesh, and the Holy Spirit the works of the Spirit of God. It is we who must choose to please the flesh or to please God.
